Coal Mine - Alberta Educational School Tours

WINNER of the 2009 Rural Tourism Championship Award!
The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site is one of the most complete coal mining museums in Canada. Tours and educational programs make a visit to this Drumheller historical attraction fun and fascinating.

We are located near the community of East Coulee, in Drumheller, Alberta…the heart of the Canadian Badlands.

This Alberta coal mining museum is growing. Every year, there are more things to see and do.

If you are bringing a class to Drumheller for a school field trip, book a tour at the Atlas Coal Mine. The students will have fun while learning. Teachers will appreciate the effect of experiential and object-based learning, and the power of story in fostering connections. The educational school tours attracts groups from all over Alberta, and even beyond.

To celebrate the Centennial of Coal Mining in 2011, we are opening the first 40 feet of the Atlas #3 mine entry! Look for more Centennial events at www.drumhellermining100.com
