Tunnel Vision
The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site is operated by the Atlas Coal Mine Historical Society, established in 1989. Our job is to preserve and present this nationally and provincially designated, visitor-supported, industrial heritage site. We see ourselves as storytellers of the mining years, inspiring a sense of connection for our visitors. We make south central Alberta a better place to live and visit.

Tunnel Vision is our plan to complete building restoration, enhance the mine train ride, provide an underground mine experience and visitor centre, and move into a position of sustainability. Ultimately, Tunnel Vision empowers to us to fulfill our mandate: To preserve and present these nationally designated historic resources that we hold in trust for the people of Canada.
